Our Story
West Coast Select is a third-generation, family-owned and operated seafood company headquartered in Surrey, British Columbia. Since 1989, we have been sourcing, processing, and distributing premium wild-caught Pacific seafood - with smoked salmon at the heart of everything we do.
Our Beginnings
Before West Coast Select existed, our family was on the water. Fishing crab, salmon, and halibut along the BC coast aboard a vessel called The Sundance Kid, we developed a relationship with the ocean - and with the fishermen who work it - that no boardroom ever could.
In 1989, that knowledge became a business. Sundance Seafoods Ltd. was founded, and the West Coast Select brand was born with a single purpose: to bring gourmet-quality, wild-caught BC seafood to people who refuse to compromise on what they put on their table.
Three generations later, that purpose hasn't changed. What has changed is our reach. From a family operation rooted in the heart of Vancouver, British Columbia, we have grown into one of the province's most trusted names in premium seafood - supplying retailers, restaurants, gift shops, and specialty grocers from BC to the Atlantic coast.
Our flagship products remain our smoked salmon lines - crafted using artisan techniques, age-old recipes, and wild Pacific salmon sourced directly from BC fisheries. Alongside our smoked offerings, we carry a broad and carefully curated selection of premium wild-caught seafood, giving our partners and customers access to the full breadth of what this coastline has to offer.

We work directly with day-boat fishermen and small-batch smokehouses along the BC coast. We know exactly which boat, which fishery, and which smokehouse every product comes from - and we're always happy to tell you.
